Gwyn Jones is standing for the position of NFU Vice President.
I would like to thank the membership for the honour of serving as an officeholder and the support I have been given.
We are facing major challenges; CAP and bovine TB to name but two. We also need to address the change in the government’s approach to animal health and welfare and to the budget cuts generally, which will affect many aspects of the government’s approach and its ability to deliver.
Given all this, I believe that we need stability and continuity at NFU officeholder level and I am very keen to see the work we are presently engaged in, the contacts and influence we have, put to the advantage of our farming members.
The NFU is increasing its membership, influence and lobbying ability on behalf of English and Welsh farmers in this country and in Europe. We represent established operators and young farmers, which I find rewarding and exciting.
