A 'unique moment' for farming

Farming and conservation groups officially joined forces with government yesterday in a groundbreaking voluntary agreement to enhance the nation's countryside.

The Campaign for the Farmed Environment is about recapturing the environmental benefits of set-aside, without mandatory regulation. At yesterday's launch, held at his farm in Bedfordshire, NFU President Peter Kendall called for a 'culture change' to meet 'an enormous challenge'.
