Can you surf the web at speed, or are you constantly battling with the constraints of a sluggish internet connection?
The British Farmer & Grower team wants to know if a lack of reliable broadband affects your business, or if you have used the internet to promote your farm and increase profits.
Maybe you’ve launched a website to attract online sales, or you can’t get the information you need quickly enough because of download speeds. Send your thoughts to ben.pike@nfu.org.uk

On a good day I get 0.5mb - I'm paying for the mythical 'up to 8mb'. It is not helped by websites (assuming you have good download speeds) putting bigger and better pics/info etc on their front pages which then take far too long to get you to where you want to be within that website. BT now offer 'up to 20mb' the line will still only accept 0.5!

I was paying for a 1mb package and was getting roughly half that. Then I kept getting dropped connections and long periods with no connection. Despite repeated complaints they kept saying it was my equipment and I knew it wasn't.
Eventually it transpired that the line was now only capable of 0.5mb which is now the package I am on. So the level of service is actually deteriorating rather than improving. I managed to get a credit note from BNS Telecom which was being drawn down against my monthly invoices but since Daisy Telecom took over from BNS getting the remainder back is proving to be a hard task!

My recorded internet speed today is 644 KBits/s. Very frustrating to work with. Just to illustrate the absurditity of the speed, it would take me
13.80 hours to download a DVD!
