We’ve responded to a Defra consultation on how the UK will meet new EU pesticides rules.
The Sustainable Use Directive was passed last year and covers the sale, marketing and use of crop protection products. Its scope includes areas such as training, testing, aerial spraying and prior notification (informing neighbours before spraying). Our message was that much of the legislation is already covered by UK law or by successful voluntary initiatives, which should provide a model for implementation.
