The second annual NFU confidence survey reports that farmers’ confidence has increased since the temperature of the industry was last taken in 2010, however there are a proportion of farmers who are still concerned about the future and find that their profits are declining.
The report also found that the two issues of most concern to farmers are input price and regulation. These key areas have topped the list of concerns in both the 2010 and 2011 area, highlighting the importance of areas of work such as the Macdonald review.
The results are discussed in a short 10 page report, and accompanying annexes.
