Biochar is creating a lot of interest as a way of mitigating climate change as well potentially bringing farmers other benefits.
Also known as agrichar, biochar is essentially charcoal but don't throw it on your barbeque! As the world tries to find solutions to climate change, biochar might help as it can act as a store of carbon for hundreds perhaps thousands of years.
In addition, very early research has indicated other possible benefits of biochar-treated soils for farmers.
