Farmers keen to reap the benefits of a successful nutrient management plan are being urged to visit Beef Expo (Hexham Mart Centre, May 27).
Ahead of a new Tried & Tested website, which will boast a more farmer-friendly focus, the team will be out and about at the event. They’ll be handing out free memory sticks full of advice about putting together a nutrient management plan.
Tried & Tested project co-ordinator Bolette Neve said: “Come and pick up a free memory stick, containing all necessary information for doing an appropriate nutrient management plan or pick up one of the other tools available to farmers, such as the record sheet pad or the management plan itself. You can find us on the Catchment Sensitive Farming stand or the NFU stand.”
Tried & Tested is a joint industry initiative including the AIC, CLA, FWAG, LEAF and the NFU, in partnership with England Catchment Sensitive Farming Initiative. More than 14,000 nutrient management plans have been sent out to farmers since the idea was launched last year.
