An event near Swindon next week (June 10) will provide an opportunity to discover the benefits of low carbon agriculture ‘straight from the horse’s mouth’ – the farmers who have made it work and are benefitting from smaller bills or new revenue streams.
Chief NFU renewable energy adviser, Dr Jonathan Scurlock, will be chairman for the sessions, held at Westmill Wind Farm and organised by The Farm Carbon-cutting Toolkit. The morning programme includes four speakers and focuses on why low-carbon farming is important and how you can make it work for your business. In the afternoon attention shifts to a series of case-study workshops from those who have already taken the plunge in a range of renewable technologies and emission-cutting efficiencies.
Dr Scurlock said: "For those who are thinking about renewable generating opportunities and saving energy there will be a wealth of experience available from farmers who are already ahead of the curve, as well as information on low carbon farming from industry specialists.“
Tickets are £25 for farmers and £40 for businesses. For further information call Adam Twine at The Farm Carbon-cutting Toolkit Community Interest Company on 01367 700616, or email adamtwine@phonecoop.coop.
