Block on Soils Directive remains

Environment Ministers met in Brussels at the beginning of last week (Monday 15 March) to hear the Spanish Presidency’s progress report on the negotiations for an EU Soil Directive.

Reports from the meeting are that opposition from the original blocking minority countries (France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and the UK), held since December 2007, still remain firm and that Malta now joins the list of those against the proposals.
