How to avoid lead poisoning on your farmlamb close-up 275184

The Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) and Food Standards Agency (FSA) have produced a short document giving guidance on how best to prevent on-farm lead poisoning.  Lead poisoning can kill livestock, cause food safety issues and ultimately costs farmers money.  Potential sources of lead on farms can include naturally high levels of lead in the soil, battery remains, lead paint, and fly-tipped waste.

Download the guidance to find out what can be done to minimise the risks, or what to do if you suspect lead poisoning in your livestock by clicking under "Related Docs" to the right of this page.
