Soil Framework Directive Implications for farmers and land managers

Ahead of the Spanish taking up the role of Presidency from early next year, the NFU has set out the difficulties that the proposed Soils Directive may bring in the attached paper.  

We know that the Spanish Presidency is determined to break down the resistance to the Directive which to date has been blocked by 5 Member States (UK, Germany, France, Austria and the Netherlands). 

This briefing outlines the implications for farmers and land managers of the EU proposals and why the NFU remains opposed to the Directive.
