EA guidance for preventing pollution
Pollution Prevention Guidance 8 (PPG 8) covers waste vegetable oil, and waste mineral and synthetic oils.
The guidance provides details of good practice and legal requirements. Revisions, published by the Environment Agency, are out for consultation until 9 March 2012. The main changes are a move from waste oil disposal towards other options in line with the Waste Hierarchy requirements, and also a new section providing guidance on the safe handling of used oils.
View the revised guidance and consultation questions by clicking the related documents tab at the top of the page. Any comments, or suggestions for improvements, can be sent directly to the Environment Agency through its website, or to Nicola Dunn for inclusion in the NFU response.
