The NFU has written to Chancellor of the Exchequer outlining what we’d like to see in next week’s 2010 Budget.
In our letter to the Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP, we’ve explained that the industry will need to make a significant investment if it is to meet the key challenge of producing more food while impacting less on the environment, as set out by the government in its recent Food 2030 document.
Those kind of investment decision require confidence - and that means the right fiscal support mechanisms must be in place.
