Members can now read an NFU summary of Defra's landmark Food 2030 strategy document, described in many quarters as the biggest investigation into production and resources in 60 years.

Our initial verdict was that the strategy represented a useful blueprint, but one which will need careful implementation. NFU President Peter Kendall said its grasp of complex issues was encouraging, but added that a balanced set of policies must now be produced based on sound science.
