Following on from the changes made last year, the Rural Payments Agency will make the majority of SPS 2011 Entitlements Statements available to view online by December 1 (Thursday).
The RPA says the statements will confirm both the number and value of entitlements - provided there are no on-going correction issues - and that claimants will be able to print off a hard copy.
It’s worth noting that the availability of an Entitlements Statement does not guarantee a 2011 payment – it merely tells the farmer the number and value of entitlements held in mid-May 2011.
The RPA will send out paper copies of the same Entitlements Statements available online in January 2012, but only to those farmers or agents who applied on paper forms for 2011.
How do I get access to my online statement?
To access SPS Online, farmers and agents who have not previously registered with the RPA will need the personal identification number they were issued with earlier this year, and should follow the guidance sent with it. If a farmer or agent does not have a PIN, or have mislaid the one they were issued with, a new one can be requested at www.rpa.defra.gov.uk/spsonline or by calling the RPA call centre on 0845 603 7777.
What then?
No matter how you get your information, the next step is to carefully check your 2011 Entitlements Statement. If you believe details to be wrong, you should notify RPA in writing as soon as possible, providing supporting information where possible.
And remember….
You can follow the progress of your SPS claim using the SPS Online ‘Track Claims’ service. This feature is available irrespective of whether you have submitted your 2011 application online, through a farm software package or using the paper form. Farmers can also use SPS Online to look at their Entitlements Statements and Claim Statements for SPS 2009 and 2010 (and 2011 when available).
