The Coalition Government have made recent announcements on regulatory reform and actions plans have been drawn up to tackle the red tape faced by businesses. A briefing is available on the right hand side summarising the recent announcements made and initiatives introduced.
A Farming Red Tape Taskforce has also been commissioned. This is to be led by formed NFU Director General Richard Macdonald. This will look at ways to cut the amount of red tape faced by farmers and growers. The review will obviously provide the opportunity for the NFU to have our say. We would therefore welcome any suggestions of regulations that could potentially be simplified or repealed or areas where a focus could be placed on outcomes rather than processes.
