Government have announced a new package to benefit business under the Better Regulation agenda.
The new package of measures announced on 15th October by Department for Business Innovation and Skills aim to benefit business by:
- deferring costs of 26 planned regulations which will not now come into force before April 2011
- increase certainty with the publication of the Government's programme of planned new regulation over the next 18 months
- the creation of a new, independent scrutiny body, the Regulatory Policy Committee;
- and a new target to reduce the regulatory burden and policy costs of regulation by £6.5 billion across Government departments.
