The NFU are wanting to hear from you if you have been subject to a local authority inspection in the past year.
As part of the work that is being undertaken to meet the ‘Improving Inspections’ recommendations in the Farming Regulation Task Force report the NFU are collating information on members experiences of inspections with a particular focus currently on Local Authority inspections.
We are interested in your thoughts and feedback on any aspect of Local Authority inspections but would specifically like to hear your views on any duplication and overlapping requirements that occur between Local Authority inspections and other Government inspection regimes.
We are therefore keen to receive your comments and feedback on the following points:
- What the inspection was for and what it involved – e.g. what was inspected and what records were looked at
- Have you experienced the same or overlapping checks and processes from another regulator – if so what was this inspection
- Could another regulatory body have carried out the same process e.g. RPA, Environment Agency
- Were you notified about the inspection beforehand – if so how much notice was given?
- Were you informed as to why the inspection was taking place?
- How frequently do you receive an inspection from your local authority?
Please respond to Lee Osborne with any comments and feedback. All comments will be treated in confidence.
