Farmers from across East Anglia can question contenders for the NFU’s top three officeholder positions on Thursday (19 January).
Candidates for NFU president, deputy president and vice-president are visiting each region to make their case to farmers and growers.
NFU members are asked to go to the regional office, at Agriculture House, Newmarket, on 19 January, for a hustings event to hear what prospective officeholders have to say. The event will start at 1pm and is open to all NFU farmer and grower members.
NFU regional board chairman Michael Sly said: “There are some big challenges and opportunities for the industry in the months ahead and I would urge fellow farmers to attend the hustings.
“This will be a chance for members to gauge the candidates’ views in areas such as reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, encouraging the next generation into agriculture and tackling red tape.”
The nominations closed at 5pm yesterday (Wednesday) and the full list of candidates is:
President: • Peter Kendall
Deputy President:
• Kevin Attwood
• Meurig Raymond
• Paul Temple
Vice-President:

• Jonathan Brant
