Defra launched the Farming and Food Improvement Scheme (FFIS) on 10 November 2011. It is the first revision of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) following the 2010 post-election review undertaken by Ministers of both delivery and priorities.
The FFIS is a small grants scheme of support, developed to help farming, forestry and horticultural businesses in England to become more efficient at using resources. The scheme aims to help make farm businesses be more profitable and resilient whilst reducing the impact of farming on the environment.
This briefing explains the background and objectives to the scheme. Sign into NFUOnline to read more details in the related document.
