The Dairy Cow Welfare Strategy, developed by the NFU in conjunction with the dairy sector, was launched in August 2010 with the support of the whole supply chain.
Since then, the Cattle Health and Welfare Group has taken responsibility for the co-ordination and delivery of this strategy. Part of that responsibility is the provision of an annual report that details the progress the sector has made against targets.
This document is available below and is a summary of the progress made by the GB dairy sector in its quest for continually improving the welfare of the dairy cow.
