The search is on for the Dairy Farmer of the Future 2011 – and Farmers Guardian wants NFU members’ help to find the winner.
Those who nominate the winning three will each receive £100.
This successful competition is now in its ninth year and aims to spread word of good farming practice and endorse the hard work and skill prevalent among our younger farmers nationwide. Entrants must be under the age of 45 working in dairy farming.
Winners will be young farmers and stockmen who combine strong technical management with the determination to succeed in today’s challenging environment.
From breeding and genetics, to feeding, animal health and commercial management, they must be able to identify the core areas of their business and how they can be developed.
As well as the trophy, presented at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show in September, the winner will receive £1,000 with the second and third place winners receiving £500 and £250.
If you know someone who you think would be a worthy winner, please nominate them by completing the application form, here.
The closing date for entries is July 15, 2011.
