The NFU Poultry Board is working hard to protect and represent the interests of its sector members. It continues to fight for a fair and profitable margin for producers and lobby strongly on policy changes both within the UK and Brussels.
Key issues for the sector at the moment include the Broiler Welfare Directive, the Welfare of Laying Hens Directive and ongoing issues such as IPPC, national control programmes for salmonella, campylobacter and the use of GM soya.
