The NFU Poultry Board is working hard to represent and protect the interests of its sector members.
The board continues to fight for a fair and profitable margin for producers and lobbies strongly on policy changes both within the UK and in Brussels. Key issues for the sector at the moment include the Broiler Welfare Directive, the Welfare of Laying Hens Directive and ongoing issues such as IPPC, national control programmes for salmonella, campylobacter and the use of GM soya.
