Keep your farm business up to date

Farm Business Update meeting_21600

New this year also will be the opportunity to hear from and speak to BT about the availability of rural broadband and mobile.

This year’s keynote address will be given by Rachel Lawrence of the Farm Business Unit at Cambridge University. Using data from the annual Farm Business Survey she will illustrate how competitive farms are in East Anglia compared with other UK, EU and world producers.

The events, repeated six times across the region, aim to inform farmers and land managers of developments in farming best practice, regulatory change, and new grant opportunities.  They will keep you up to date on the latest environmental, water and regulatory issues, and help you to maintain a profitable and efficient farm business.

There will also be presentations from representatives of the Campaign for the Farmed Environment, the Environment Agency, the Farming Advice Service, local water companies and the Rural Development Programme for England.

Between them, they will update attendees on:

  • Cross Compliance – Farming Advice Service
  • The Future for Countryside Stewardship - Campaign for the Farmed Environment and Catchment Sensitive Farming
  • Farming and Drinking Water – Local Water Companies
  • Farming Grants and Funding Updates – Rural Development RPA
  • Fish Need Farmers: Sustainable Watercourse Management - Environment Agency

As well as the talks, all the speaking organisations, along with others, including the NFU, will be on hand to talk on a one-on-one basis over the coffee break and lunch, with leaflets and supporting information available, giving delegates an opportunity to discuss what’s important to them and for them to understand the support available.

All the events run from 9.30am to 12.30pm, followed by a free lunch.
