A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office today (18 November).
Warning of ice from the Met Office come with the wintery showers that will spread south on Monday evening. The sleet and snow showers will be frequent and become heavy at times.
The warning states that settling snow will largely be confined to hills over 200m and coverage will be temporary in England and Wales on Tuesday.
By Wednesday the warning covers Western and Northern Scotland and the Highlands only where gusts of wind are predicted to reach 70mph. The Met Office has advised that the gusts could cause travel disruption and possibly minor structural damage to buildings.
The cold weather originates from the Canadian arctic.
