A vacancy was created in the East Midlands region after Warwickshire-based Wright Hassall withdrew from the panel after seven years’ service.

Josiah Hincks will cover the counties of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland in the NFU East Midlands region from 1 January 2016, bringing the total number of legal panel firms back to sixteen.

Tim Crocker, NFU head of business services said: “I am delighted to confirm the appointment of Josiah Hincks Solicitors to the NFU’s legal panel. Their selection was based on their knowledge, expertise, experience in handling agricultural and horticultural matters and the location of their offices.”

NFU East Midlands regional director Richard Hezlet said: “We were also impressed with the relationship they have started to establish with the NFU locally and I look forward to working with Josiah Hincks alongside Bowcock Cuerden and Wilkin Chapman, the other panel firms in the region to develop this association further.

“We would also like to thank Wright Hassall for their support to the NFU and its members in the East Midlands region over the last seven years.”

Andrew Eagle, Senior Partner of Josiah Hincks Solicitors said: “Our firm has always had a significant number of clients from the farming fraternity and we believe that we understand the advice that farmers want. We look forward to working closely with the NFU in providing that advice and support.”

The purpose of the panel is to provide NFU members with local access to expert legal firms providing specialist agricultural and horticultural advice. NFU members continue to save money through the firms offering a discount of 12.5 per cent on their hourly rates, together with fixed fee and other costs packages for various services.
