We have set out ways in which this could be alleviated both through the government’s forthcoming 25 Year Food and Farming Plan and with a coherent fiscal strategy which avoids adding further cumulative burden for businesses.
We have asked that the forthcoming Business Tax Roadmap particularly address the needs of unincorporated businesses, which did not benefit from the previous Corporation Tax roadmap that significantly reduced the rate of tax for large companies.
We have also called for measures which help mitigate the impact of the introduction of the National Living Wage, address the lack of hi-speed broadband coverage in rural areas, mitigate the impact of HS2 on farmers and encourage balanced investment with a more supportive capital allowances system.
