The SIP is led by researchers, and the NFU have tried to engage through the process to encourage the project leaders to involve farmers to ground truth their ideas. This included an article for the SIP website and newsletter.

As the SIP projects comes to an end, the NFU are expecting see more outcomes and will analyse all of the findings to see how we can communicate them to members. A key aim of the SIP from now on should be knowledge exchange, and how the research findings can be used to help farm businesses.

SIP has already published a Scoping Study that explores approaches to influencing sustainable intensification, focusing on farmer attitudes and practices, the role of the supply chain, and mechanisms for driving change - published here
