Potatoes, soil and hand

Norfolk-based chairman Tim Papworth and vice chairman Alex Godfrey, from Lincolnshire, were re-appointed along with Allan Stevenson, from Essex, Graham Nichols, from Gloucestershire and Richard Thompson, from Staffordshire.

They are now joined by new members David Armstrong, from Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire grower and Potato Council Ambassador Amanda Cornforth and Hampshire grower, Gavin Janaway.

Tim Papworth said: “I am delighted to be re-appointed and to be able to continue my chairmanship of this important and influential Forum.  I would also like to congratulate all of the successful applicants, not least our three new members who bring with them a variety of skills and experiences that can only be of benefit.  The Forum has been very influential, with notable successes on seed potato insurance and contract terms as well as providing a strong voice for potato growers in the FERA fees review, water abstraction reforms, nematode stewardship and in support of the NFU’s Catalyst for Change initiative.

“I want to thank Martin Cockerill and Andrew Monnington for their valuable support and input to the Forum and wish them are their businesses well for the future.”
