Consultation on the Use of Manure in Organic Farming from Animals Given GM Feed 11 Mar 2010

Within the EU Regulation on Organic Farming, it is possible to use manure from conventional animals as long as they have not been fed GM feed when manure from organic animals is uavailable.  With the increasing shortage of non GM livestock feed, Defra has asked the Advisory Committee on Organic Standards (ACOS) whether the current ban on the use of manure from animals fed with GM feed should be maintained. read more..
