The rubbish, dumped at Walsham-le-Willows on Thursday night, was described by one police officer as the worst he’s seen in 30 years. It is believed the culprits used tractors and trailers, leaving mounds which will cost thousands of pounds to clear.
Materials used in the carpet and veterinary industries were among the items left.
PC Mark Bryant told the Daily Express: "It's horrific. I have never seen anything like it in my 28 years, certainly not in Suffolk, not on that scale and not as blatant. It's quite incredible.”

In England alone during 2012/13 there were 711,000 incidents of fly-tipping with a case occurring every 44 seconds. It’s estimated around two thirds of farmers have been affected and a study revealed the cost of clearing fly-tipped waste from agricultural land was around £47m.
And when waste is illegally dumped on private land it is the responsibility of the landowner to safely dispose of the waste.
