Learn arable inside out - one week left to apply

Combine harvesters at work

Successful applicants will meet key industry personnel at research institutions, visit the British Agricultural Bureau in Brussels and meet with experts along the supply chain, such as the bakers at Warburtons.

The joint partnership between the NFU and grain co-op Openfield allows young farmers to investigate the key drivers in their sector.

Having seen first-hand the success of the first Cereals Development Programme, NFU combinable crops board chairman Mike Hambly said: “We have had a very high standard of candidates apply so far, but with just a short time left, we want to ensure that anyone with aspirations of working successfully in arable farming is aware of this fantastic opportunity.

“There’s a huge breadth of experience, education and training on offer and the programme has the potential to have a really positive impact on the careers of young people in arable farming.”

The Cereals Development Programme is open to participants under the age of 35 and the deadline for applications is 29 August 2014. Find out more here.
