Mrs Tacon will report on the past 12 months as well as revealing her plans for the coming year.

The day will include presentations from the GCA, the launch of the GCA’s Annual Report and the opportunity to network over lunch. Anna Soubry MP, Minister of State for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise, will deliver a keynote speech.

NFU food chain adviser Christine McDowell said: “The NFU is eager to hear from Mrs Tacon on how her work over the past year has improved the retailers’ culture with their suppliers. Results are expected from the latest YouGov survey, and hope to see the year on year reduction of supplier complaints continued.

“The NFU is calling for the adjudicator’s powers to be extended to oversee codes of best practise between farmers and processors, which will give NFU members more ability to ensure they are not absorbing all the risk from unfair trading practises of the supply chain.”
