British Sugar
British Sugar is the monopoly processor of sugar beet in the UK and provides more than half the country's sugar requirements.

British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO)
The BBRO is a non-profit making company set up jointly by British Sugar plc (BS) and the National Farmers' Union (NFU). The objective of the BBRO is to commission and implement research and technology transfer designed to increase the competitiveness and profitability of the UK beet sugar industry in a sustainable and environmentally acceptable manner.

CIBE
The International Confederation of European Beet Growers is the representative organisation for the sugar beet sector at EU level . It collects and exchanges information and draws up common positions on fundamental issues such as EU policies on sugar, biofuels, trade and the environment.

WABCG
The World Association of Beet and Cane Growers (WABCG) provides the only forum where beet and cane growers can meet internationally to discuss common interests, problems and solutions.

Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)
Defra's core purpose is to improve the current and future quality of life by integrating environmental, social and economic objectives - putting sustainable development into practice every day, and by championing sustainable development as the way forward for Government.

UK Sugar Beet Portal
Provided by the British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO) and British Sugar in association with the NFU this service uses a wide range of information and services to provide a 'one-stop-shop' for UK sugar beet knowledge.

Improving knowledge and understanding about the contributions of sugar and other carbohydrates to a healthy balanced diet.

Red Tractor
The Red Tractor assurance schemes cover six sectors of agricultural production including pigs, cattle and sheep, chickens, dairy, fruit, vegetables and salads, and harvestable crops like cereals, oilseeds and sugar.

Associated British Foods, parent company of British Sugar, is a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £5.6 billion and over 42,000 employees in 41 countries.

Germains Seed Technology
Providing seed priming and pelletting across the EU, Germains primes and pelletts all UK sugar beet seed.

NFU Online
The National Farmers Union represents the farmers and growers of England and Wales. Its central objective is to promote successful and socially responsible agriculture and horticulture, while ensuring the long term viability of rural communities.
