The FSA had originally intended to release the full results, including the names of the retailers and processors, of testing of around 1,000 samples every 3 months during the survey, with the first results published around June/July 2014.
In the latest board meeting the FSA have said that interpretation of the results cannot be carried out properly until a full years sampling has been completed and analysed. There has been concern from industry and Government that incomplete data could be misinterpreted.
The decision went to a vote with the Chair, Tim Bennett, using his casting vote.
