Where will I be based?
According to where the vacancy is you could be located in one of our seven regional offices, London, Wales or Brussels. Please read the information contained within the vacancy to identify the location.

Do you offer relocation assistance?
There are certain posts that attract relocation assistance and this will be highlighted in the advertisement and information will be sent to applicants separately if this applies.

Can I apply for more than one vacancy?
Yes you can. If you feel that your skills, knowledge and experience lend themselves to more than one vacancy and align with the job description and person specification, we encourage you to apply.

Why are on line tests used for some vacancies?
As part of the recruitment and selection process we have built in tests appropriate to the skills, knowledge or experience that we are seeking. On-line tests enable us to ascertain competency within these areas. If an on-line test is required you will be given detailed information about the test and how to complete it.

What departments are there in the NFU?
The NFU has various departments, they include:

I don't have a farming background, can I still apply to work for the NFU?
Yes, there are many roles in the NFU that do not require you to come from a farming background.

When do I get paid?
On or around the 28th of each month.

Is there a probationary period?
Yes, all staff undergo a probationary period of six months.

When can I join the pension scheme?
Once you have started work the the NFU you can arrange a meeting with our Pensions Adviser who will discuss your options with you.

How do I apply?
On the vacancies page, click the hyperlink to the job that you would like to apply for and then at the bottom of the page you will find the application form to complete.  You can return the form via email or by post.

If my application is unsuccessful, can I request feedback?
Yes. In the first instance, please contact the HR department who informs you of our decision.
