National Farmers' Union representing farmers and growers in England and Wales

The Land Rover tales

1 September 2008

More NFU members have been telling their tales of adventure in a Land Rover following last week's Bulletin.

Life-changing experiences and memories, which were documented in British Farmer & Grower magazine, are now available, along with pictures of every farmers' favourite vehicle.

Bernadette Bennett was just one of many members who contacted the NFU webteam.

She said: "We drove our elderly Land Rover from darkest Cornwall to Carlisle Market with a large ram in the back. As it was hot we opened the sliding window between the cab and the back.

"The ram soon put his head through to enjoy a cooling a breeze and share our apples. The" double takes" from other travellers crawling up the M6 was hilarious."
