The new EU food hygiene regulations form the basis of the food law requirement SMR 11 in cross compliance for 2006. The Food Standards Agency is in charge of implementing the hygiene regulations, while Defra are responsible for setting the standards to be used by the RPA inspecting for SMR 11.
