Farm Business Update meeting_58771

This year’s keynote speaker is Jim Orson, former Director of Morley and NIAB TAG and currently a board member of both the Voluntary Initiative and the British Crop Protection Council.

Jim is also in demand as an expert on weed control strategies, development of cropping systems and the impact of GMOs on arable production.

He will be presenting on meeting the agronomic and environment challenges to wheat production in a competitive world.

The Campaign for the Farmed Environment,  Richard Wordsworth or Anna Logan from the NFU, Natural England, local water companies and the Environment Agency will give talks on Countryside Stewardship, cross compliance and greening, reducing ammonia emissions, water stewardship and abstraction.

The speakers will be available during the coffee break and over lunch to talk with attendees on a one-to-one basis.

The sponsoring organisations - NFU, CLA, Environment Agency, Catchment Sensitive Farming (NE), and your local water company - together with a number of other organisations will have stands to visit as well.

Registration at all events will be promptly at 9 30am, with the presentations finishing with lunch at 1pm.

Due to the popularity of the previous FBU events booking is essential. Please call the CLA, which is handling bookings for the partner organisations, on 01638 590 429 or email ZWFzdEBjbGEub3JnLnVr.
