The ‘Festive Soiree’ event, organised by the NFU’s Downham Market branch, was an opportunity to promote food and farming and forge closer links between farmers and other local businesses.
After a welcome from NFU Regional Director Robert Sheasby, guests enjoyed music from Hilgay Silver Band, mulled wine and other refreshments provided by Dents. There was also a raffle to win Christmas hampers.
Branch chairman Ed Lankfer said: “It was a fantastic evening and I would like to thank everyone who sponsored the event and who came along, as well as the staff of Dents who worked so hard to make sure it was a success.
“It was a real pleasure to see so many members and guests enjoying wonderful food and a festive drink in a fantastic building.
“Thanks to the sponsorship we made a modest profit on the evening, which we will be donating to a local charity.”
The branch is now hoping to make the soiree an annual event. It was supported by sponsors including Openfield, Syngenta, Bunn Fertiliser, Yara, British Sugar, Strube, G’s Produce and CTM Engineering
