The new-look roadshow proved a major draw in the Hertfordshire Farmyard area of the showground, with around 2,000 people coming along to find out more about food and farming. Hundreds of children tried activities ranging from tractor driving to tackling a food and farming quiz and having a go at milking.

And it impressed the judges as well, who awarded the Discovery Barn first prize in the Exhibitions and Display Stands competition.
The NFU team consisted of County Adviser Niamh Kilgallen, Regional Communications Adviser Brian Finnerty, group secretaries Ian Crickmay, Leonie King and Tim Porter plus Chris Platt from the NFU office at St Albans. They worked with Michaela Chappels and Abbie Cockram from events team Mad River.
After appearing at the Royal Bath and West Show this week, the next stop for the Discovery Barn in East Anglia is the Essex Schools Food and Farming Day at Writtle College on 7 June.
