The Grassland & Muck event is losing its home at Stoneleigh due to HS2 and the organisers are looking for a new site for the next event in May 2020. Working on behalf of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, the team would love to hear from anyone who either has, or may know of, a potential site.
Grassland & Muck is the UK’s leading grass and muck demonstration event and takes place every 3rd year. This prestigious event has been hosted at Stoneleigh for over 30 years and has become a valuable event for farmers.
The event requires approximately 200 acres which can put down to silage grass for machinery demonstrations; ideally on a lighter soil type, across relatively flat fields and with proximity to A roads. The site can be split across multiple landowners and also across minor roads.
“This is a great opportunity to get involved with this prestigious event and put grass into an arable rotation,” says Alice Bell the event organiser, “we will work closely with the host farmer, paying market rate rent for the land and also seeking a contractor to carry out the work on site, which may also be of interest to the host.”
Ideally the grass will be drilled at the end of August 2019 and the site will be handed back at the end of May 2020.
