FUN FOR ALL AT THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY SHOW

Experience a fabulous family day out this Spring at Nottinghamshire County Show, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May at the Newark Showground. With plenty going on inside and out, on show will be the best cattle, sheep, goats and pigs alongside superb equine events, including majestic ‘heavies’ and first-class show jumping. New for this year; a dedicated ‘Heavies Ring’ where visitors can get closer than ever to watch these magnificent horses prepare for their classes.
NFU will again be joining the show society to stage the Food Experience area, with our usual food demonstration theatre, kids activity zone, our lovely Ladies in Pigs and the wonderful NFU Discovery Barn all bursting with great ideas, tasty food giveaways and activities for children of all ages.
This year’s theme is vegetable production, which our county’s farmers are famed for, so please come along and join in and if you can, help out on the day too! We’re always on the look-out for anyone with a spare hour or two to help on the stand. Ring us here at regional office on 01572 824250 if you’re able to help at the show.
Show visitors can meet favourite farmyard animals, gun dogs and birds of prey. Children will particularly enjoy the antics of the animals in the Countryside Area and the return of the popular Giant Tortoises and, of course, the hilarious ‘Sheep Show’. Interact with Froojampaflip, an 8ft stilted animatronic character accompanied by knowledgeable gardener, Fred, who will be delighting gardeners by handing out free seeds. Tis unique garden-themed duo full of quirky details has been especially designed to engage with youngsters to encourage healthy eating, buying local produce and understanding the natural environment.
Featuring as the main attraction is the famous Atkinson Action Horses who have recently appeared in the TV series, Poldark, Victoria and Peaky Blinders.In addition, there will be many other spectacular displays to entertain and inform visitors.
There will be music, lots of fun, a tasty Food Experience area, and ample opportunity to shop for crafts, gifts and clothing, many items on sale will not be available in the high street stores. Hot food and delicious treats available at various food & drink outlets around the show.
