The Farming Community Network (FCN) will benefit when the charity’s Midlands regional director, Peter Harding, takes on the gruelling challenge this weekend (10 and 11 October).

He will complete around 25 miles in Shropshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire before crossing the finishing line in Leicestershire.

FCN is a national charity providing practical and pastoral support to farming families in England and Wales.

The bike ride is part of FCN’s Big 25 – a celebration of the charity’s 25th anniversary, which sparked local fundraising events throughout England and Wales.

Peter said: “Farmers are key workers who have helped keep the country running.

“Covid-19 has reminded the nation that we rely on our farmers to put food on the table. By cycling across the Midlands I hoped to raise awareness of what FCN does to support the farming community during challenging times.”
