A celebration cake was cut and enjoyed by NFU members and Wilkin Chapman Solicitors colleagues at the Lincolnshire Show this week. The celebration is to mark the 10-year anniversary of Wilkin Chapman becoming a NFU Legal Panel firm, providing advice and guidance to NFU members in legal and technical disputes in the counties of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

NFU has a 16-strong panel of solicitors across England and Wales, providing a comprehensive range of legal advice to our farmer and grower members, through our flagship Legal Assistance Scheme, launched in 1987. NFU celebrated the LAS’s 30th anniversary and presented the inaugural Legal Panel Excellence Award to Wilkin Chapman, earlier this year.

NFU’s East Midlands’ regional director, Gordon Corner said: “We are very grateful for the support provided by Wilkin Chapman’s expert partners and staff to our members in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. It is a pleasure to celebrate the 10 years of our partnership here at the Lincolnshire Show.

“There are many issues facing farmers’ and growers’ businesses that require both individual and industry representation, whether that is a business dispute or a large scale project such as the Triton Knoll electricity cable that will be laid through Lincolnshire farmland in the coming years.”

Wilkin Chapman’s senior partner, Andrew Holt said: “With a history deeply rooted in the region’s agricultural sector, it was a natural progression for the firm to become an NFU Legal Panel member and we were obviously delighted to do so.

“Over the last decade we have seen this relationship blossom and of course it was fantastic for all involved at Wilkin Chapman to be presented with the national NFU’s inaugural Legal Panel Excellence Award in November 2017.

“This award is evidence of our excellent partnership, and we are sure that over the next decade we can, as the largest law firm in the region, use our expertise and knowledge to assist the farming profession across both Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and beyond.”
