Flood risk increases across the region

After weeks of wet weather, already saturated soils and some high river flows in many parts of the region, the expected heavy rainfall predicted by the Met Office between Tuesday and Thursday may result in yet further challenges for members across the region.

Predictions suggest significant rainfall, with potentially 60 hours of persistent rain delivering upwards of 100mm and possibly in excess of 400 mm.

The current flood warning maps - which change as the situation develops and can be found here - show most of Yorkshire at a higher risk of flooding in the coming days.
