For the last 30 years, he’s welcomed pupils onto his farm to see his version of ‘Lambing Live’.
His 30th year was no exception as three groups of children walked down the school lane for their chance to see new lambs being born in Russell’s lambing sheds.
Speaking after the visit, teacher Carolyn Reynolds said it was a fantastic opportunity for the children to meet Russell and find out about lambing and farming in general.
“They have loved every minute of it and learned a lot," she said. "They asked some great questions and it was wonderful to have those questions answered by someone who really knows what they are talking about.”
