Thirteen members with a poultry interest attended to hear guest speaker - Cheshire egg producer Dr Steven Pace.
Steven farms with his family in Congleton where they run an enriched cage and free range egg business. Steven spoke about the family business, his NFU poultry development program and his work at Leeds University.
NFU members were then given a sector update from Duncan Priestner, the organisation’s national poultry board chairman. Duncan’s update covered avian influenza, organic derogations, Campylobacter, Red Tractor standards and the winter round of turkey meetings.
