The NFU Preston team took a party of their members to Bath for three days in March.
NFU Preston Senior Group Secretary Jo Oliver said: “We did a little sightseeing in Bath with our members and were very fortunate to welcome NFU President Minette Batters to dinner on the first evening. We were so grateful to her for taking time out of her very busy schedule to come and talk to our farming members. They were delighted to hear from her and she got the tone of the discussion exactly right.
“We also had a wonderful visit to Yeo Valley farms in North Somerset. It’s an inspiring business and it was wonderful to hear their story of transition to organic production, diversification and the continued push on farm efficiency, producing somewhere in the region of 25% of the UK production of yoghurt.”
The group ended the visit with a fantastic tour of Wells and the Cheddar Gorge.
