Brighton MP updated on agriculture

Earlier this month, the NFU met the country’s only Green Party MP, Dr Caroline Lucas (Brighton Pavillion). She was hosted at Truleigh Hill, on the South Downs near Worthing, courtesy of Annie Brown and farm manager David Ellin.

NFU adviser James Osman, who arranged the meeting, said: “It was an excellent meeting in which plenty of common ground was found. We discussed the importance of protecting our high food and farming standards in post Brexit trade deals, as well as making sure that the agriculture budget is guaranteed over a number of years.”

Dr Lucas agreed to a future meeting and pledged to work with the NFU on the Agriculture Bill.caroline lucas mp_60908
